I am doing a 3 credit course where I get to pick a book, do a 30 page paper on it, and then defend my postion on the issue.

Some things I have interest in are single pilot IFR, single engine IFR, night flying, mountain flying, etc.

Has anyone read any good books on these subjects? Or any other ideas?

Thanks

Are you one of the "I don't like single pilot/engine IFR operations" types?? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif That may be tough!! How about Instrument Flying by Richard L. Taylor? Not a really opinionated book, more technique. But it's good!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

What class is that. I'll be sure to avoid that as writing papers, especially long papers are definetly not a strong point of mine. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Sorry for the thread hijack.

That's why you're in college - to learn how to do it!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The thing is it really isn't a class. You just do the assignment, and get the credit. All at home work, which is great for me.

Now, is that double spaced?

I get it. I didn't read you original post close enough. So I'll just have to stay away from things that say write a 30 page paper for 3 credits. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I suppose it could be any easy or hard 3 credits depending on what you choose to read.

You might try to find some archives of Richard Collins' columns. He has written a lot on the subject over many years. Usually, at least annually, he talks about the statistics. He may have put it in one of his books of which there are many.

Tony Kern

"Flight Discipline"

Great book with tons of real world case studies. A large paper would be possible from this book.

My grandfather was showing me his old Airforce Instrument Flying Handbook from the 60's tonight. He said it would be interesting to do a paper on how the theories and methods of instrument flight have changed over the years.... that would be a cool idea.
