Aviation movie foul ups and tech errors.....

World War Z has an amazing shape-shifting C-130/AN-12.

Almost without fail, any movie that includes any make or model of helicopter will include the sound clip for a Huey!

the opening scene of the movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977). While an interesting scene, there is a blooper here. The scene opens with the label of "Air Traffic Control, Indianapolis Center" [Indy ARTCC]. However, at 2:18, when the controller calls on the landline to the "45th Recon Wing", he asks the controller there "this is Indianapolis Center, do you have any test operations in Restricted Area 2508?" Problem is, R-2508 is in California, north of the former-George AFB and, within and north of Ft Irwin. This is well outside the area of responsibility of Indianapolis ARTCC.

In reality, this scene was filmed at the Los Angeles ARTCC in Palmdale, Ca; and the blooper was never corrected.

Maybe LA Center was DOWN that day. You ever consider that, Poindexter?!

What about those Top Gun scenes? They were supposed to be over water for a few of them, but I saw a lot of desert and mountains.

Ok this one really grinds my gears. In the movie Flight, when Denzel comes out of the flight deck and starts talking to the passengers over the PA (really tool thing to do by the way) the camera pans over and shows him using his thumb to pop off the lids of a couple of vodka minis.

BS! How the hell do you just casually pop the tops of those off with your thumbs? I've tried...it aint happening!
