Hey Guys/Gals,

What are some good college aviation programs? I know that OSU and ERAU (In which I'm not going to) have programs which are tooo expensive, but what are some other aviation university programs out there?

BTW I am not getting a degree in aviation!

Ohio State
LeTourneau University
Southern Illinois University
Kent State University
Middle Tennessee State University
Oklahoma State University

The University of Alaska Anchorage has a good program. We have maintenance, ATC, management, and piloting.

If you are not going to major in aviation, why go to an aviation college? You can get a degree at an in-state school, fly locally and save $$$.

I really want to be around people who have a passion for aviation. I want to live, breath, and sleep aviation. I'd just rather go to a school that offers an aviation program.

I went to the University of Central Missouri and did not major in aviation. I did all of my flying there including all of the ground schools. I majored in Biology with a minor in aviation. So yes to answer your question some universities will let you fly a their institutions and major in something else. Being able to do this worked out well for me by getting the degree that I wanted, and being able to fly at the same time. The university flight school setting was good for me because it had structure and I knew what every thing was going to cost.

So you basically want to be around aviation dorks 24/7? For one, it gets annoying really quick, at least it did for me when I went to college and two, is it worth paying the extra $$?

If your sig represents reality, why not make an attempt to gain some financial ground? You can "be around people" without having to pay for it.
