7500 = Possibly ending up in Beirut + paperwork + media questions

7600 = paperwork + phone call to union + uncomfortable questions from FAA and CP

7700 = Crap-ton of paperwork + incessant questions from media regarding "why didn't I do 'x' instead of 'y'" + uncomfortable questions from FAA

I just remember John King telling me in a VHS video produced probably in 95' that it behooves me to have someone else onboard if I squawk 7500 and when I land friends in blue rush to meet me.

On a side note does anyone remember when Martha King got arrested?

I never knew that happened! Just looked it up, apparently an arm of the DEA didn't do a quick Google search, a plane with that tail was stolen previously and the FAA eventually cancelled the registration, which was eventually given to the plane they were flying. So when they filed the flight plan they were eventually met by police when they landed. A quick search of the FAA database would've shown someone the previous reg was cancelled and had been re-assigned to a different aircraft. Oops.
