Aviation artwork

f-14a.jpg

Semi-abstract oil on 24 x 32 canvas. I'm going to be painting a series of aviation art work (maybe 10 semi-abstracts). Any ideas, I am all ears. Had painters block for the last month! :buck: Hope ya'll like it.

Over the past few years the calendars from Boeing have gotten worse. They used to have cool, glossy photographs of their aircraft. The next year, it was some stylized photographs around the world. Then some increasingly abstract polygon representations of their aircraft. Then there was last year ... nine out of the twelve had watercolor scenes where their aircraft was just a small smudge in the background. This year's calendar was a real cop-out ... it's just a bunch of wireframe CAD models in front of some color gradients.

Don't be like Boeing. </Andy Rooney>

I think any of these could provide some good inspiration:

Hey, that's sharp! The canopy looks like real glass. Like the reflection of the flag too. Nice detail.

This is inspiring. I use to paint years ago, maybe it's time to start again. Keep up the good work! :)
