Like Mike said, it depends...
In the P-3 I always thought we got a decent # of hours, especially when you're airborne anywhere from 5 to 10 hours at a time, but I know folks who flew jets who have similar hours to me. In my 3 years flying the P-3 I got about 1000 hrs. Just to compare though, my CO had only about 3000 hours and he'd been in the Navy for about 20 years. Most guys who get out of the Navy after their initial commitment and go to the airlines will probably have around 2500 hours. For some that's all turbine PIC, for some, like P-3 guys, it may be a little over 1000 PIC.
FYI, monthly hours could range from 5 to 75, depending on if you're on deployment or if your boss has got you doing some inane task in the office that in the end only makes him look better. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
