Avelo ending West Coast operations

I mean, that's easy enough to say when it isn't a choice you are actually faced with. Maybe there is a way, but calling out sick for 4 years straight? I dunno if thats a thing.
Where I used to work there was a "list" created for flying some found unpopular or revolting. Initially, they trained everyone on the fleet for this flying, as you might suspect. After a time, the company, with approval from the union, allowed a certain cadre of crewmembers to do this flying and stopped training those who didn't. What was the unpopular assignment? Flying people.....

Again, stop comparing it to scabbing. I scab is a scab is a scab.
Alright, for argument's sake we will.

We now know that the likelihood of a US citizen being on one of these flights is non-zero. Or perhaps someone who is here legally but has been profiled and swept up. Or someone who has committed no actual crimes and is being deported without due process. Or maybe one of them has been here since he was 11 at no fault of his own, his parents escaped chaos, has always shown up to court for his immigration hearings and has paid taxes all the meanwhile. This last example happened to a local Denver photographer by the way.

As a friendly reminder, crossing the border 'illegally' isn't a crime. It is a civil matter.

With that in mind, this broader 'crackdown' of our friends and neighbors that is going on is immoral. These flights are a direct result of all this. That doesn't sit well with me personally.

You’re preaching to the choir. I don’t agree with any of this deportation nonsense. We have a toddler in the White House and this is the mess we get.

Ha! I never heard this story. I never understood the disdain around here for pax flying, and it usually comes from people who never flew pax. Personally I loved it.

Maybe it's because I came from the ULCC world, but I am so happy flying cargo. I show up, plane is loaded, and we go. No fights, less chaos, no terminals.

But that green slip though! :)

“Welcome aboard folks. We realize you didn’t have a choice in travel, but we thank you anyway for flying Delta Airlines…”

So what other violations of federal law are we okay with? :)

I’m just going to leave this right here because it’s perfectly ironic on it’s own.

Go ahead, you have the floor. I’m going to break out the Orville Reddenbachers and enjoy the spectacle.
