Talked to my friend who's there about 30 min ago. He got sent home today early, having just gone out on Tuesday.

Says they're not furloughing everyone, but the overall picture is far from peachy.

Well this is better news that what I understood. I'm glad they're still employed; as popaviator stated, that's not a common aircraft.

Well, I mean, if the parts fall off, I don't think I'd be too keen.

Will be hoping for the best for the Avantair guys...guess I'd better get in touch with the guys I know.
 
I was just reading about this, I can't imagine the FAA just pulling their cert like someone had mentioned. I hope all the employees are being taken care of :(
 
Well, I also can't imagine an operator grounding an entire fleet of aircraft voluntarily because of one incident. There is more to this...

I'd put money down that the FAA gave them two options, and one was ground and inspect.

Hopefully they'll be back up soon.
 
I, along with all company pilots were furloughed effective 10/27/2012.

Hopefully things will be back up and running in 2 weeks. Or maybe not...

3rd Furlough since 2008 lol
 
Best of luck to you guys RPJ. Can't believe a large operation such as VNR could allow such gross negligence on maintenance oversight.

Of course, I'm assuming that's what it is...

Darn. I've heard nothing but great things about the pilot group there. Good luck guys and here's hoping the company pulls through.

This lines up with what I heard yesterday. Sorry to hear this, I hope its a VERY temporary situation and they get you all back up soon....

Heard the same thing from my friend about 4 hours ago.

Here's to the best resolution to this for all you guys :(
 
I'm really wandering what the aircraft owners are being told and if they loose business over this. I can't imagine people are very happy when they can't fly their airplane.
 
RPJ, I'm really sorry to hear that, and I hope they get you guys flying soon. I've talked to a lot of Avantair pilots while on the road and they're all such a friendly group. Good luck to all of you guys
