I can see them being lined up on de-icing pads at places like MSP that have a lot of room to work with. If they fit, I don't think it is a bad idea at all. If instead of 12 planes lined up on pads waiting for trucks, you can have 8 hangars lined up with planes coming out every 5 minutes, it would be a lot more consistent and be a better use of man power IMO. Of course, I do not think this will ever spread to smaller airports or the majority of major US ones.
