Attachment issues?

Ok, here's the trick. The software split up the entire user database in about 10 or 12 different directories.

Some were marked writeable and others were not. But unbeknowest to me, in order to do a chmod with the -R for recursive directories, it's a root command on the server and whenever I toiled with the write permissions, it wasn't hitting all of the directories because I wasn't logged in as root.

TMI, yes, but I never said I was a knowledgeable IT guy. But I'll program the hell out of a DL3 Pegasus/GPS FMS.

If someone doesn't know what you're talking about at least you are more knowledgable than them.
 
Aren't you in, umm, IT at your current employer, man? :) never heard of a chmod with a recursive directory command? Fo reals? ;)

indeed I am. It is so specialized though Fo reals.....Unix guys, mainframe guys, application guys, windows guys, etc......

I'm more front-end stuff in IT. What happens behind the scene is all magic sauce...:panic:
 
OK...didn't want to say anything and be a pest. I have been trying to upload pictures to my albums as well as change my avatar. It is not letting me do this. Doesn't matter what the size is. I figured it was just an anti-Wacofan plot, but apparently others had that issue as well. Not any big deal, but thought you would like to know.

And seriously Doug and Kristie - I know this is a huge amount of work for you - I really appreciate the site. I do not understand any of what has been discussed on this thread so that means its hard. Thanks a lot for this place.

EDIT - Never mind - seems to work now.
