ATSAT Retest

Airport Bum!
Does anyone know about retesting the atsat> My year is almost up and so far it does not look like there is going to be a Public announcement soon. Would I have to wait for the next scheduled public atsat or could I test seperately or with another announcement?

I tested last July and recieved a qualified score, but it is not good enough for me and
I cannot find anything about retesting.

I would like an answer as well. In April 2008 I took the atsat test and scored qualified. I would like to know when is the next public announcement coming out, I figure it has to be soon for the public annoucements 7&8 panels in July or August. Please help.

Everything I've heard (from the faa down here) is that they're done hiring for the fiscal year. So maybe October.

I think this is one of those cases where you need to call and do some digging. It doesn't seem to be advertised how to do it....but we all know that it can be done.

you cant just take it to get a better score like you do with most standardized tests (SAT, ACT ect). as you know, you have to get selected to take it by way of the faa. then Robinson aviation will contact you to take the test. so from the sound of it you will have to wait till there is another announcement, apply, and wait to get selected again to take the test.

Once you are authorized, you can retest yearly. At least that's what they said at the testing center out here.

Since it seems to only be scheduled with an application period, it certainly could be that you have to wait until then and piggy-back. But I was thinking...when do CTI grads take it? Should be every semester right?

And the AT-SAT is a standardized test. It's just not available to everyone.

Think LSAT. It's just for Air Traffic, not Law.

It's an entrance exam, just like any other.

since everyone else is speculating just wanted to throw in my 2 cents. I would think that you would need to wait until a new public announcement where the authorize other people to test.

I forget the actual amount but I want to say its like 800 dollars for one person to take a test and since the FAA already did it once I dont see hem just handing out another 800 dollars to allow for a retest, unless maybe the second time is done and the tester expense.

How long is the AT-SAT good for? I took it in Feb 2008, and made WQ. I just got authorization from PUBNAT 7 to take it (again). I don't really want to re-test if my score from Feb 2008 is still good.

I would recommend calling OKC 405-954-4657 (yeesh I have that memorized now)

they'll let you know the low down.

I first took the AT-SAT test March of 2008. My ASAP page was recently updated 1 year to the day of me taking the test to say: You have been authorized to take the AT-SAT test for announcement AAC-AMH-09-PUBNAT7-11589. You will be contacted within a few weeks to schedule the test. If you have questions about the process, please call Aviation Careers Division at 405-954-4657.

I am still waiting to hear from Robinson though...

I think when I took it they said it was good for 3 years and we were eligible to retake the test again after a year.

That makes sense then if you applied to a new pubnat and you passed the one year anniversary it would give you the option to retest.

When I go to asap it tells me I am not eligible, or actually I think it said I was not selected to take atsat test at this time. That was from when I applied for pubnat 7. My original test date was in sept of 08 so I have not past the one year mark yet.

This is what I recall, as well.
