ATPL CP vs PNR

hi all,

i am having trouble completing a trial atpl question regarding CP vs PNR.

can someone have a look through it for me??

An aircraft is to fly from A to B, a distance of 1600NM at a TAS of 400kt. The endurance (excluding reserves) is 5 hours. The wind component that would put the CP between A & B in the same position as the PNR to A would be:

A. +80kt

B. -80kt

C. zero

D. +40kt

i have gone through all variations (i think) and i cant get the answer they gave.

THEIR ANSWER: B

any reasoning why would also be great

thanks nudge.

That was on the ATP written?? Wow -- I don't remember anything like that.

Anyway - I think I have an answer but do me a favor and define CP and PNR to make sure I'm answering the right question.
