ATP written

Doomsday is August 1st, right? I have mine scheduled mid July to get another month in.

And congrats btw!

As long as you're planning on doing the ATP checkride w/in 24cm, there's really no limit on how early you can take it right?

I have no idea what life will bring in the next 2 years, and I'm sitting around 700hrs short of ATP mins...hmm...think it would be worth a shot?

Yeah, worst thing that happens is it expires in 2 years. I'd rather be safe than sorry, but who knows what'll happen by then. I'd just rather be on the prepared side just in case.

I'm getting ready to take the atp written myself. I've taken 3 practice exams and have passed them all. I chose to do the king atp program manly because I wanted to review all that I have forgotten over time. Which I'm glad I did. However, I do have a question for those who have used shepardair. Is there some system they use for memorizing the performance questions? There are some, like the flight planning that honestly I'm not going to sit and spend 10 min figuring out, but I would like to ensure I don't miss to many questions. I've heard there is some cheat sheet out there, if so would anyone have one they can share?

Yes there is a diagram that helps you memorize all the tedious crap.

Desertdog thanks, I did manage to find the memory aid sheet. It did help me with two questions. I used the King atp course, and I'd have to say was a little disappointed with it.
I took and passed my atp written yesterday. Just glad to be done.

I was pretty happy with Sheppard. The memory items were great and easy to learn, and I didn't feel surprised at all on the actual test questions. Did about 3 weeks of study.

Passed both (FW+Helo) ATP tests this morning! I used ASA test prep book and there were about 7 questions I haven't seen before.

Took the written yesterday and passed. Thank god I got that out of the way. I'm interested to see what comes if this new ruling for pilots who go through the required training after this month. For anyone that hasn't taken it yet, go do it today. It's the easiest written I think I have taken to date.
