ATP Written and prep for $150!

I don't get how one day's worth of computer based studying will give you even a 10% increase in your probability of passing considering there are 1700 questions in the ATP written bank. You'd already need to be fairly knowledgeable goin in I think. CFI's would do well. But current 121 F/O's that have been right seat rotting for years are gonna need at least a week to prep for this written.

Not if it's anything like Shepard's thing.

It sounds like a great deal, but while they don't say it, it also sounds like a lot of self-study before the day of class and exam is critical.

I doubt that. I took the written with ATP last year and didn't use any prep other than what was done that day. I also took most of the day but I'm sure others who are smarter probably won't need that much time. I wish I had waited and could've saved $145.

You basically just sit there and memorize the correct answers in the reduced database.

It's not about going in with a strong foundation of knowledge. It is about shoving 700 questions and answers into your short term memory for just long enough to pass a test that will be given to the second before those 700 answers fly from your head. It's that simple and that easy.

See, your first mistake is assuming that anything in the ATP written is actually practical knowledge.

Yeah really.

Some things should be known and understood and others are memorize and dump out of your brain, but wow, that test gives the other memory dump events a run for their money!

Well then maybe you guys can tell me what the hell you're smokin, drinkin or eatin to give yourself superhero brain power because I couldn't memorize 700 answers in a day if my damn life depended on it. Seriously, do you guys mainline ginkgo biloba or something?

You don't need to memorize all of them. You just need to memorize enough of them to get a 70%.

It ONLY shows the right answer. You would be surprised how quickly you learn the material. I did the same thing for CLEP tests when I was in college. I had a flash card program and I only learned the right answer. After a couple of hours, it is automatic.

If you don't have 250 Jet time there's no way you could do that...:sarcasm:

Seriously though it's amazing what you can memorize in that short time.
