ATP PHX - PPL and self-paced experiences....

I started this flyblog when I first signed up for the program. I have friends and family scattered throughout the country and wanted to share with them what I was going through. None are pilots so I usually try and use as much plain english as possible.

Been on the fence about opening it up to the wider world but I thought I'd use the 'pay it forward' philosophy - hope it helps someone get a feel for what the ATP program is like. I'm just about done with the 60 day PPL program and will be on the 10 month self-paced program with the goal of completing that program in 5 months or so. Me: 33 y/o, married w/ 2 kids - 76 hours total to date.

Hey man I haven't seen you around and was wondering how you were doing! Good luck finishing up with the program.

Edit: I figured you may not know me by my screen name, I'm Matt. I was the guy from the July class that sat in on your ground school.

Just been finishing off my timebuilding/IFR intro flights. Should be starting on the 'noles in a week or two. See ya out there!
 
How do you like PHX so far? I'm thinking of going there but still haven't made up my mind yet
 
PHX is great! The atmosphere is good, my instructors have been excellent. Some minor annoyances here and there. I don't live in the apartments, so I can't tell you what the Kool-Aid faucet is like.

PHX has been great to me as well. I started 8/6 and will complete the 85 hr PPL program today. Would've been done sooner but I was down for a bit w/ some illness. It's been awesome.
