ATP or Anson Air? (@Houston) Cheap?

I was checking this flight school:

http://www.ansonair.com/professional.php

and I was wondering which is best? At anson, the cost is so much cheaper which is around $39,957 and have all your license compared to ATP.

Is it possible to start at anson air getting all your ratings and apply for a CFI position at ATP?

How harder is just going for the ATP ACPP program and hired as a CFI there than applying from Anson as a CFI?

I was planning to start ATP around houston area (David Hooks Airport) until I ran across this FBO..

They have a Gulfstream Academy link at their website. I'd stay away. Plus, you'll get more multi time at ATP. Of course, that's why ATP is more expensive. Whether you need the multi or not, is a good question. If might not be that big of a deal, depending on if you are willing to instruct for a while.

Anyhow, I'm not a big fan of going through all the ratings in 90 days and then jumping right into teaching in an accelerated enviornment. But that's just me.

:yeahthat:

90 days is not for me...lol but for some people, it will fit them.

Well I wanted to get the ratings and going to school at the same time. Just that the main focus is about the CFI job anyways. I'm not sure if I wanted to build multi time not quickly or quickly?

I've flown with both ATP Houston and Anson, In fact last February I was asking myself the same question that you are asking yourself now. I had plans to instruct at either ATP Houston or Anson, but ended up leaving Houston entirely.

I started the ACPP when it was just being introduced at DWH, it was off to a slow start but now the show is up and running over there. Anson I found to be a good flight school, one that I wouldn't mind instructing from, my previous experience with them was just renting aircraft.

I would personally visit each facility and see what jives with you the best, ask some students what they think of the ATP program in Houston, I think you will get honest answers.

As far as the Gulfstream link at Anson, I have no idea what thats about, I certainly did not get that impression from them while I was visiting. Dont forget to check some of the other local flight schools, they may also be able to provide the training even thought they don't have a specific program setup.

"I'm not sure if I wanted to build multi time not quickly or quickly?"

I wouldn't worry about it. The folks that do ACPP are paying all that money for a reason, an RJ job in min time. That's why you pay extra for the multi time. If you can see yourself CFIing for a while, I'd say the multi time might come to you in time, or your can worry about that later.

Gulfstream must have some sort of deal with academies across the country. I've seen this at Accuwing in Renton, WA. It's probably a way to impress newbies that don't know any better into making a decision to train at your academy cause you can get an airline job right after. Looks great to some career orientated folks who are uneducated about the profession. I'd rather see a JC link at a flight academy. Only place I've ever seen that was Skymates.

:yeahthat: The folks at Anson are pretty genuine, I just think sometimes the smaller FBO's feel pressured to provide or advertise some kind of "larger" opportunity.

thanks all. I really do want to get to the rj fast..i mean I can stand instructing (im a very patient guy) just that there is this opportunity that I see to sit in the rj.
