ATP meets Airliners!

Finally made it back home to Colorado after getting my Private knocked out in 50 days at ATP.

I know some of you follow my aviation photography work so here is a photo from my first cross country that I took and put on Airliners.net... Not too shabby for an older 172, check it out!

I think it is the first time ATP has made it to airliners.net so I figured I would give ATP some publicity. Hopefully I will get some time during the 90-day program in Dallas to get some more shots of the beloved new Seminoles and get them on the net too... Enjoy!

nice pic . . . when I visited ATP Manassas . . . they're 172 wasn't decked out in the ATP colors, but they did have the new Seminoles

I visited ATP a while back, like last Oct/Nov. But last time I flew into Manassas was three weeks back.

In-laws live right up the road.

Good morning, Tim:

That is a nice picture. I used to lived and worked around AYS. By the way, during the sun & fun fly at FL week, if you land and fuel at AYS, you should be able to get some free burgers and drinks.

Thanks for the comments, nothing beats those old-time glass bottle cokes out of the machine. I think I bought about 8 of them the last time I flew through there. If I am ever flying in that area again, I will not mind making a stop at AYS.

I should have some more pictures of other ATP birds soon.

I have a lot of time in N21515. Does it still need an obscene amount of right rudder pressure. I know when I flew it, the rudders felt very stiff.

Actually the first few times I flew it, it was great, it seemed to fly just fine once trimmed off but the last few times on my longer flights it seemed to want to roll to the right a bit. Other than that no problems. I dont think the instructors liked it too much as the window on the right side didn't open but I think it was my favorite out of all the planes.

Don't forget the popcorn!
(I flew that plane too!)

Yeah the two guys that were working there the few times I stopped by were really nice and very helpful too. I am sure they did think it was odd when I walked out of there with a bag full of coke bottles clinging though.

Someone told me that one of the 9/11 hijackers stopped by there and signed the guest book and stuff. I hear they were asking all these questions about the train that runs near the airport... Kinda freaky!

Tim,
Congrats on getting your private in 50 days! I wish my private took that long. Anyways, I look forward to meeting you on September 13th. I am going to be your career pilot instructor so I'm sure we will get to know each other very well....lol. Anyways, enjoy your time off. See you soon.

Adam,

Can't wait to get settled in down there and meet everyone, I should be rolling in Saturday afternoon so I will see you then!

What's the best way to go about getting a key to the apartment?

Tim

Tim,
Give me a call at the Dallas ATP office. The number is 817-419-6966. I'll make sure I or somebody else will give you the key to your new luxury pad....lol. Your partner is from Colorado too......he is a sharp cookie. My last student was from Colorado as well. Must be something in the water up there. Drop me a line if you need anything Tim. See ya soon.
