ATP housing

Here's a question...

If you go through their program and become an ATP CFI, can your fiance/wife/SO or whatever live in the 300$ a month CFI housing? Or is that no bueno?

Depends on the Apartment you are staying in. When I went through, our instructor lived in the same apartment as a few of the students and had his own room with bathroom. It would be easy to have someone else living with you in that situation, as long as everyone else in the apt was cool with it.

The problem is when the cleaning people come through. ATP uses them as watchdogs. They report any vandalism/broken stuff and may report someone else living there. I know one of my roommates had his girlfriend living with us for about 3 months. It never was a problem for him but it could be a problem if JAX found out.

Not sure where you got that information from but I believe that's not true. The maid in one location didn't speak enough english to report back on vandalism/broken stuff.

Sorry I wasn't clear in my post. They didn't actually report it, they took pictures and then gave them to the training center manager. I saw the pictures of the broken stuff that the cleaning ladies took. They, too, spoke very little English but those pictures were worth 1000 words in any language.

When I was going through the CFI program in VGT, our apartment was broken into and the place was ransacked. Many things were stolen including lap tops, ipods and logbooks. I cant say i was shocked as the housing there is in an extremely ghetto neighborhood, but when we moved out and into a cheap hotel down the street, ATP refused to reimburse us for the rooms. I don't think they ever did anything about the stolen property either.
