ATP Daytona Beach

I searched through the forums looking for any reviews for this location but didn't see any recent ones. I am looking to head over there in the Sep-Oct time frame, just wondering if there was any feedback from recent ATP goers.

I've got a friend doing his CFIs there right now. He seems to like it so far. 2/3 done and taking the CFI ride next week.

I went to ATP DAB almost a year ago. During my time there it was kinda a mess. The instructors were all good pilots and teachers. It was managed really poorly though. Finding out your checkride was scheduled for the very next morning at 8pm the night before was pretty common. The manager, Matt, was always hung over and worked a noon-5pm shift maybe 4 days a week. I'm pretty sure they fired him a while back though so maybe things changed. The best way to tell is just take a tour of the location.

I worked at DAB from August to October of 2008. Overall it was an ok place, the major downside is the fact that Daytona Beach is basically a trailer park with 50,000 inhabitants.

As far as the flying goes it's extremely crowded airspace and Flagler airport where we used to do the pre-solo checks can sometimes get ridiculously overcrowded. Matt was still working there when I was there, but like I said it was 2008.

Really? Trashing a hard working aviation professional’s reputation just to cover your own inadequacies? Doing something like that is called Slander. If you do it in writing, it’s called Libel. Try looking that up before you open your big mouth again.

Just because you hide behind anonymity doesn’t mean you can’t be found and made to pay for libeling someone. You’re a disgrace to aviation. Grow up.

Please, have your Internet libel lawyers find me and make me pay. LOL

It's not slander nor libel if it's the truth. Ask anyone who went to ATP Daytona when I did and they'll tell you the same thing. If management had been such a "hard working professional" they wouldn't have flown a busted aircraft back to DAB after my roomates solo and they'd still be working there.

Really? Have any proof? Why don't you tell us who YOU are and we'll compare stories. For your information, he was NOT fired and is still very much employed by the company in it's admin offices. If you're going to mouth off, try getting at least part of your story straight.
