ATP Dallas Apartments

Hi All,

I was just wondering what the ATP apartments are at the Dallas location.
  • Do rooms come with desks for each student?
  • How safe is the area?
  • What about parking for cars of students?
  • Do the apartments come with internet connection? Wi-Fi, or otherwise?
Thanks!

I was at Richmond (KRIC) and we didn't have desks, we used kitchen table. Parking was pretty much park where you can find a spot and no free wifi. The 3 of us split the bill.

I was in the GKY ATP a few years ago. I don't remember any desks, but there was a nightstand, a bed and a dresser.
Area is pretty safe, parking is provided at the apartments, no internet at the apartments. However, what our apartment did was got cable modem setup and split the bill 4 ways for 3 months.

I was there this past fall for CFI school, in the apartment I was in some people had desks, my room didn't (spent all my time at school anyway). The apartments were nice though the characters in the apartment area were questionable. Not sure if they still have the those apartments in the Marriot residency. I know after i was done they had moved the few students that were left into the apartments that they had at the airport. Not sure what they have now that enrollment is down.

You'll stay at the Grand Courtyard Apartments in Grand Prairie, TX. It's about six miles down the interstate from the Arlington airport in a gated community. The apartments are nice, with washer/dryer, fully furnished (no desks, but we would usually chill in the living room and study together), plenty of parking, relatively quiet. No internet, but we added service through AT&T for a few months with no problems. It's also right next door to all the facilities you'll need... post office, supermarket (use Tom Thumb, not Albertson's... trust me), 2 movie theaters, and lots of restaurants.

They dont have the makeshift apartments at the airport anymore? I remember those during my XC's and always wondered if they legal in terms of housing/building codes. They definately were convenient for the students though.

If you will be attending the 90 day program, you go to the Grand Courtyards typically. It is a typical apartment complex that is gated.

Total CFIs and others are offered an apartment here inside the flight school. I believe you could ask for an apartment here if you like.

When I went there girls were also usually put up in the airport apartments but that was just because of the schools desire not to have co-ed apartments and the fact that there weren't enough girls attending to fill an entire Courtyard place up.

Sometimes if you told them that you wouldn't have a car available they would try to put you in the airport apartments, as well. But that may have changed -- I think there's probably a lot more students now than back then and they may not be able to offer that kind of consideration these days.

All of the above info is right on. If you bring your car STAY AWAY from City Garage Repair next to the apt's. HUGE RIPOFF!! Go to the Good Year repair shop off of the highway on the way to school. TON'S Mongolian Grill next to Albertsons is pretty good, cheap too.

Holy crap, I had forgot all about Ton's... but DAYAMN you got so much food there for like $5!! I bet its a little more now but it was great.

Man, I'm hungry now.
