ATP at ATP

Nightflight

Just took the checkride for the ATP and passed. There wasn't nearly as much stuff on there as I had once dreamed up.

Pretty straight forward. Little nervous that the instructor hadn't taken his ATP checkride yet, but did a good job.

Shoot me a message if anyone has questions about the actual atp checkride.

Actually I was wondering what the maneuvers were like, and how much time you got to practice in the aircraft. I figured I'd post this question on here because it might benefit a few of us, and probably keep you from having to type the same thing over again in multiple PM's. :) thanks!

Maneuvers, first everything is under the hood.

Stall in the take off config(clean) at first indication(horn)
Stall in approach(dirty) at first indication.

Should be noted on those you can not lose any altitude.

Steep turns
Emergency descent

Engine failure on takeoff roll, engine failure at 500 ft, and engine failure at altidude that you actually feather and restart.

Approaches,
Landed from a circling approach with no flaps
Landed from a single engine ILS (has to be kept within 1/4 scale)
Holding
2 non precision approaches, 1 single engine
Rejected landing at about 50-100 ft.
And another ILS.

So 4 approaches total, 2 ils, 2 non precision including the circle

As for the oral.
Pretty much every system
Talked over the special emphasis items
GPS/Vor/ils

Also went over performance charts.

I think it was easier than a multi commercial, but that might just be me.

Congrats on getting it done.

The IWA tower guys used to hate us because we always tried to end our training flights (and the ATP checkrides) with the circle to land off the ILS.

Just a note though... the no flaps on the landing (unless the procedures have changed) must be a localized DE request thing. The POH stated putting the flaps down once you've turned final on the circle. I can completely see a DE wanting to see a flapless landing thrown in there as well though.

I believe the PTS says "non-standard flap setting" and most DE's I have seen use a no flap approach to cover the requirement.
