Nope. And as a new hire that was pretty sure I was going to stay, that made me start updating my stuff again.
Ya....

The VP was quoted as saying they are hiring people that are unhireable everywhere else. So if you suck at life, this is the place for you!

As long as it's Better than the regionals they'll see new hires galore. Once the majors start picking up hiring it will become more of a revolving door.

Voting with your feet is the only way they'll get the message, but it will take years for them to understand, and years to attempt to counter that while they secretly hope for an economic downturn for the pax carriers.

Military personnel management is the same way...

The company is printing money, there's an attrition issue and it seems that they can solve staffing with a "Cash 'N Prizes". What in the world are they thinking, it's 2003 again and major airlines are letting out for recess again?

You'll make the same money. Right now, not worth it. So many better jobs hiring.

This place could be great, but management is not interested in that.

Yup, I am still hopeful but I just renewed my airline apps.

I hope it's all just contract related posturing. I obviously haven't worked a single flight here, but I feel like this is where I should be. But the giant FU to those who were hired recently makes me want to get a job somewhere else just to prove them wrong.

Telling me that I can't do something is the best way to get me to do it. Back in junior hockey I was the backup goalie for half the season. Coach told my dad that he didn't think that I "had what it takes." I was starting by the end of the season.

I had no idea it had gotten so bad there so quickly. That kind of sucks.

We are facing the same issue here to some extent. Our first year pay is lower than any of the other majors/legacies (by an order of 200% in some cases) and lower than more than a few of the regionals now. However management says that's not a problem because there is a steady stream of south rampers who will come over at any price so they can stay here. I've done my time with 250 hour wonders in the right seat. I'd rather not do that again (with 1500 hour wonders).

Wait what? Really?
