Atlas/Polar hiring

There you go... It just seems that QX is threatened by dispatchers hired from XJT or Comair..
Not sure why
I am not threatened by anyone, I just really really hate the social clicks that always seem to form when you hire en masse from one place.

The problem with hiring a lot of people from any one particular place is they bring all of their bad habits with them. It's like high school.
ExpressJet has consistently produced good dispatchers. If your management can’t handle a culture issue with a small group of people, then I think they have a bigger problem than hiring Good dispatchers.

As for being desperate, how many times does every regional office buzz with excitement when a Legacy Carrier and Southwest open? Thousands of apply to better themselves. Every. Single. Time. You sound simple and rude.

So you don't think that people that already have a history together shouldn't automatically bond in a new and unfamiliar place? I had almost 20 people in my class and quite a number came from my company. That made the world of difference in feeling comfortable that first week to start mingling with many classmates from other carriers.

I don't see a problem with social clicks, especially when a percentage of the group is threatened with job loss. If history has taught us anything, clicks are inevitable anywhere in the world where human beings are concerned.

When I started at my current airline, I was the only one from my previous airline. In fact everyone in it was from a different place. Didn't seem to be a deterrent in "settling in" or becoming comfortable.

As for clique, I'm not going to go that far and say I've experienced that mentality in dispatch. Occasionally someone will refer back to how their previous airline handled a certain policy or procedure vs. The current method, but generally it's just that, a quick reference.

Plus, it is good form to ferociously make fun of people who say "well, back on the RJ" too much.

You had no choice. Quite different between having 4 people from your carrier come along with you or having to buck up and just start shaking hands.
