ATC Staffing / Fuel Costs

How many flights has your shop canceled over the last couple of weeks due to ATC staffing issues? Do you believe current flight schedules are sustainable? When do you think the ATC system will be fully restored to pre-pandemic capacity, if at all?

What steps has your shop taken to encourage fuel-efficient flight planning in light of these record-breaking prices? How long is your commute to your SOC/NOC/OCC and why don’t you have a bike yet?

Staffing issues are terrible across every field, ATC, Pilots, Dispatch, OPS, Ground Crews. Who knows when it will recover.

Not sure about the gas initiatives we have been fueling for increased delays.

All I really know is today AUS went into covid cleaning and has a rate of 8AAR.

Why would you do covid cleaning in the middle of the day. That along with ZJX ZHU centers with staffing, and MIA being single RWY config it sucks to be an ATC coordinator today

They may have some sort of trigger where if someone reports a positive they immediately shut down for cleaning. The second, more reasonable explanation is that it's the government.

Gotta love those saturday mornings where the FCAJX* comes out at 8am for the entire day.

ATL to PTY the other day. JAX center says roll 25 minutes (which we have all figured out is a minimum) We asked to be filed around JAX. We onboard a little more fuel and add about 20 minutes to the flight time. On time arrival. I would do that over and over again.
