controller incentive pay. an extra amount of $ to help staff critically manned facilities. at least that's what the initial reason for CIP was for. then they started to give it to everybody, which isn't a complaint of mine. my complaint with CIP is that they started taking it away from CONTROLLERS, then they go and allow managers to keep theirs. managers are not CONTROLLERS per se. they must keep proficiency, but usually at the slowest possible periods and for only 4 hours a month. the hours may vary per facility. anyway, why should managers keep their CONTROLLER incentive pay when their not really controllers anymore...just break list monitors.
