Just curious if there are any atc jobs for someone over 35? I would love to get out of the airlines.

Any information would be great !!

Thanks

The contract towers and DoD I think require a CTO and about 1-2 years of experience.

I know if you graduate from Beaver County you can actually get your CTO there (http://local.ccbc.edu/aviation/) but I don't know if they would take the degree as the 2 years of experience. The students there also actually work real traffic at the local tower, so maybe they'd take that as experience.

Only thing I think you can apply for if you don't have a CTO and are over 31 is a Ramp Tower Controller, as long as you have some aviation experience (ex. pilot).
Here's one of the possible companies that hire for that:

I currently work for Terminal 4 at JFK in New York. If you have a B.S. degree and some aviation experience you can work as a ramp controler pretty easily. The training for it doesn't take too long, we're on the 7th fl of the ATC tower here work with many big carriers. Not sure where you are, but I imagine it's not too dissimilar at other airports.

I was browsing the open jobs on the FAA website and they had a few jobs other than ATC that required flight training and this or that with hours. Some seemed like some pretty good gigs.

There was one for a Test Pilot. My husband was drooling at that one but he is no where near the required TT for it.
