ATC Attire

If I could turn up to work in jeans and a polo shirt or something every day I would.

Equally, going to Finland in the winter I'd be quite keen on having thermals, wooly hat, parka and so on rather than legging it round the walkaround in leather jacket, gloves and scarf trying not to freeze to death.

As Sir Ranulph Fiennes once said (if you don't know who he is, he removed frostbitten fingers and toes in his garden shed after walking across Antarctica), there's no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing.

You know what always cracks me up? When out of town visitors from places where it gets ridiculously hot show up in the summer and go to a baseball game. Oh, sure, when that SoCal sun is shining for the first three or four innings, it's awesome. But then when the sun goes down and the marine layer rolls on in, if you're in shorts, you're going to be cold.

Newb controller here. I got a talking to about a week in at my facility to stop wearing shirts with collars. Its pretty lax where I am at. Just took some getting used to on my part.

What?? Which people at your facility had a problem with you wearing a shirt with collar?
