Hey Stapp I am going to give you a little advice. I am from AZ and was crazy enough to go to an aviation program out of state(CWU) for a year. While it was fun and I for the most part enjoyed the experience along with completing my instrument rating, it just didn't make sense from a financial standpoint nor did I feel the overall quality of education outside the flight program was very good. You are paying out of state tuition plus the high cost of flight training which is going to be a lot especially at many of these aviation colleges.
As for ASU's program which was intriguing at the time being from AZ and all, after doing my homework I really wasn't too impressed. It's on the East campus based out of IWA(Gateway airport in Mesa) and it's gotta be a pain if you have classes at the main campus in Tempe commuting back and forth betwen the two cities. Another reason I was discouraged is that I already had a PPL and they told me that I'd still have to take the private syllabus over again, at least the whole ground portion and seeing that you already have a PPL that's got to be a turnoff. Even better they have ties with good ole' Mesa Airlines which already signals a red flag to me. If I remember correctly you live in the Tri-Cities, so why don't you look at somewhere like Big Bend? Also I know you showed a lot of enthusiasm about going to CWU but what made you change your mind?
I'm not saying that the quality of training at ASU's flight program is bad, in fact I'm sure it's very good, but you need to be looking at the whole picture and from what I remember you telling me a while ago about how your financial situation was a bit tight, going to an out of state aviation college doesn't sound like a good choice for you.
