ASA United Flying Article

What's so private about any of the before mentioned? Would it not eventually get leaked out anyways?

Of course it would have. But there is a difference between an authentic leak vs. still highly unrealiable information concerning Skywest Inc.'s association with a foreign carrier - and how it would relate to ASA's pilot group.

And, it's actually not all that private.

My real issue here is that if I wanted that information available here, I would have posted it myself. But I saw no reason to post it here, considering none of it is confirmed. It's not like I posted the same information less than 30 minutes from when Marcus decided to post it here, it's been available for viewing by furloughed ASA pilots now for about three or four days. So, as I said, if I wanted it here. . .I would have posted it.

Unlike some, I don't really feel the need in spreading around every rumor going on at ASA right now.

Who are Skywest inc pilots and why are they needed in Vietnam? Can't they find locals or people in that continent?

Pilots for ASA or Skywest. I can't answer your 2nd question. My guess would be that since SKW could possibly be a major investor they want to send their pilots there to get the operation started. This is an upstart operation by a Vietnamese conglomerate that has never operated an airline.

As far as I've heard you keep your ASA seniority number(Has to be a given) but since you will be an employee of Mekong Air you will lose Delta/United benefits.

So, you keep seniority. What about the other stuff? Still a LOT of loopholes to be filled.

As far a scope erosion on don't see it because Mekong Air is not a subsidiary of SKW inc. SKW is merely an investor/consultant helping to jump-start a conglomerate that has never operated an airline do it well.

You're not thinking long term. What if Skywest just decided to start investing in other start ups rather than their own subsidiaries? It sets a dangerous precedent. If they're just investors, then they shouldn't be allowed to just give people leaves of absence to work at another company. Either you quit, the same as you would going to work for another airline (which according to what you've said, the Mekong op would BE a different airline, albeit one that Skywest Inc invests in) or it's part of Skywest Inc and flown by Skywest Inc pilots. There really is no middle ground. Should Air Whisky pilots be allowed to jump over to US Air since Air Whisky invested in them? What about Lufthansa pilots and jetBlue?
