ASA Recalls All?

Haha I'm glad someone taught you growing up it is a good thing to run away from those whom disagree with you. You sure as hell can look at Todd and others on here and bet they are not as immature and rather face their critics with factual, mature, adult conversations. And in fact the many whom disagree with them have respect for them because of such.. But some are just cowards and run I guess when the heat is on...

No worries you will be a big bad CRJ900 Captain at ASA... Pardon me I mean Atlantic Southeastern Airlines...

...and how would you know ANY of that personally? Yeah he might post rumors that and such, BUT to my knowledge a few of them have come true. And if some of these rumors involve more CRJ's at the regional level, who should you be mad at at? Marcus, Management, Mainline pilots.....who? Im pretty sure that he's not the ones making these decisions about who gets what airplane or how many...

Acting childish is telling your fellow pilots "thanks for nothing and screw you" on the ALPA boards, after furlough assistance gets voted through. Then, 8 months later, reappearing as if nothing happened.

Haha again his own words above.. I realize you are buddies... But he was the one whom mentioned the ignore button... Which is where my comment comes from... But that's putting 2+2 together and getting 4... Hard math eh??

Reading comprehension fail. I don't ignore anyone on here. I was saying if someone doesn't like my rumot posts they can hit the ignore button. Some people around here like to act like ASA info is G-14 classified. And stop screaming with all your politically correct jibberish for the Mesa pilots. Why you not over on the Comair recall page screaming that the recalls are taking Mesa pilot jobs?

You clearly still got a personal issue. Are you STILL sweating that my boy got hired at Republic and you didn't? You dream about Republic Airways at night? Do you look for the seat closest to Bedford at church?

You don't need to say a name and I know who you talking about. Type of person that can set a record for grievances filed in groundschool LOL

You cannot be serious...

First off, the Mesa rumots are full blast on ours. 2nd, out of 1600 pilots at ASA around 200 or less are on web boards.

Your statement is comical. Is Dough going to get called into the chief pilots office for saying Delta rumored to hire? Geez..

Hardly the same thing. Saying "anyone hear this rumor?" is one thing. But posting rumors as if you have an "in" with management is something entirely different. Especially if followed by a "see...just like I said" if it happens to come true. Just makes you come off as a bit arrogant and self important. Which, having met you I know isn't true.

There's a lot of junk in this industry that we can't control. In a way that's kinda what I like about it. Go to work, come home and forget it all. Stuff that will happen will happen. Posting rumors as truth a few months before they possibly happen doesn't change anything. There's much more important in life than this industry.

For everybody, Trip7 was in my newhire class. I even sat next to him after my interview here (though I didn't know it was him at the time. I just thought he looked very familiar). He's really a stand up guy. He even stopped in traffic in downtown ATL to say hi as I was walking to my crashpad. That's why these posts make me scratch my head.

Marcus real quick question. Becasue I really do not know the answer. And it scares me to ask knowing your friend and what would appear to be your mentality too...

If it meant you would be out of a job for a few years, would you be ok with that as long as Mainline were to get back scope and bring flying back to the Mainline pilot groups??? Thus making you're future a lot brighter with scope protections and the future for all 121 pilots better??? I think I know your answer but I am curious...

As for the Mesa pilots... I do care. I see them everyday. I see how lifeless some appear to be. I see the PHX crews now in CLT. How they are all basically downgraded CAs flying as FOs. I see the FAs talking about their future... And to think how many are senior making 100K plus and if Mesa died tomorrow how they can sustain the life they have now with the job market the way it is??? It actually is very humbling to sit back and watch... And is a sad reality of the lack of security we all currently have in our lifes...

Exactly how I feel. I'm tired of sitting in the bottom 10 of the seniority list here. But the people who will be out of work at Mesa have been there much longer than I have. Kids in college, mortgage payments, etc. I think the worst part about this industry is that its so unstable. There will be plenty of people who say "well, they knew that getting in". But you should be able to feel comfortable enough to have a family, buy a house, etc. If not, what's the point? To fly a cool shiny jet around?

What Mesa is going through could happen to any regional, even ours. Now I'd love to see JO and the rest of Mesa's management ruined because of this. But I definitely have sympathy for the rest of the employees. And I don't want to be the reason they're jobless.

Security in the airline business is a big shiny hunk of Pyrite.

I've got 13 years at the world's largest airline, can hold domestic narrowbody captain and everything in the right seat (including the 747 if it wasn't fenced) and my job is in no way secure. Hell, it was almost "game over" when the Nigerian underwear bomber lit his scrot afire onboard an A330.

By the nature of the relationship between the "brand" and the subcontract, regional flying certainly shares that lack of true stability no matter what the guy in the grey-pinstriped bespoke suit says.

Can't say it's the passenger side only. UPS and FDX are freight companies, not airlines so if there was a medieval trebuchet that could catapult packages from point-a to point-b, management would be theoretical idiots if they didn't replace MD-11's with a team of peons and a trebuchet! :)

Dig in. Trust but verify and allllllllways look over your shoulder. Too many Westair, Pan Am, Skyway, Eastern, TWA, etc guys running around that thought they were at the pinnacle of the profession and there was nowhere to go but up up up.

I know it sounds negative, but it's the reality of our chosen profession.

And it certainly beats dumping trash or shuffling papers behind a desk! ;)

I just realized I said "scrot" and I haven't even had a cocktail yet. Man, I think there's a burgeoning psychological problem when I start being uncouth before cocktail hour.

Dear Dr. Phil...

Good points Mr Taylor :)..... Sad but true :(

But you Mesa guys will be ok.

Especially those that are on JC, took what we're trying to teach about networking and not burning bridges to heart.

One door closes and another one opens, you've just got to be patient and observant enough to find it.

I would gladly take a furlough due to all regionals becoming bankrupt due to mainline recapturing ALL scope. But that is not reality. Reality is almost all regional growth that will take place in the next couple years will be from one regional taking away from another regional. Some families will take off to a bright future, and some families will be devastated. It's cruel, its harsh, and its unfair. But that is reality and this is the type of system we the people of the USA decided to operate our economy in. I feel for the people of Mesa as much as you all do.

Dear Dr. Phil...

"take it easy scrot...there's plenty of tards living kick ass lives. My ex is a tard, but she's a pilot now"

I love that movie.

Sadly, it's a documentary. :(

I have a theory that it is all lawyers fault.

Because of stupid lawsuits, it is now impossible for natural selection to run its course. Do we really need a warning on the lawn mower that says "don't stick your hand underneath?"

Before we had to put warnings on everything, the stupid would either do it and take themselves out of the gene pool, or learn their lesson the hard way.

That's my theory...Jtrain...its all your fault.

Is this a joke?

Precisely the reason I never desired to go to the airlines. Too much volatility for my taste and I don't find the flying or lifestyle interesting, however it may be worth it and fun/fulfilling to others, which is cool. Aviation is a "to each their own" business and everyone's taste's are different. Just know that wherever you decide to go or whatever path you decide to take, you need to do the homework and have a good idea what you're getting into. Every path has its respective pros and cons. What gets me are those that knowingly go down a path that they know has a lot of cons, be it pay/QOL/whatever, then endlessly gripe and complain about it as if they're shocked and surprised with what they're experiencing.
