You guys only have 10 planes in CLE? and the CEOs make money. no matter what happens. I think they get bonuses for filing BK

Bad because the flying is going to someone else. . . right?

Nope. Nobody cares. None of this flying is "ours", were all regionals. We're nothing but short term contractors. Wish it wasn't this way, but the truth is any regionals flying is vulnerable and easily replaceble at any moment. And any other regionals management wants everyone elses flying. It's no different than any other BUSINESS.
 
On the bright side, at least anyone that goes to ASA at this point knows exactly where they are gonna be based!

Which is the good. . .just makes me wonder what the chances of ATL based flying getting stolen by someone else is. I think small, very small - simply because ASA has been such a staple of Atlanta area aviation for 3 decades - coming up on 4 and Delta still needs ASA's east coast structure.

Yea, that won't happen. ASA has a 10 year contract with Delta that I believe is maybe 1-3 years old. So unless DL gets the contract voided while in BK, ASA will continue to be a staple at KATL.

The only thing that I might see happening is the name ASA being replaced with Skywest on the side of ASA planes!

But... ASA had a contract with Delta in LAX too... and RegionsAir had a contract with CAL in CLE as well... etc. Contracts (at this level of the game) unfortunately, are sometimes made to be broken.

That said... you do know that SkyWest is opening a small base in ATL now... right??

^^ Go figure. I don't even think that if someone with enough money to purchase ASA away from Skywest came along, that Skywest would let them go.

I'm slowly starting to get the sense that Skywest's management style will turn ASA into their own version of Mesa's Freedom. :insane:

I always thought that a contract was a contract, was a contract. So breaking said contract would/could result in legal action or monetary fines.

Furthermore I figured that a contract of the type that ASA has with DAL (at least in ATL) could only be voided in BK, lest DL be subject to fines or legal action for breach of contract.

Lastly, sigh, yea I know about the SKYW 900 base in ATL!

How do you figure? The only other pilot group they could possibly whipsaw is their own, and they're non union so what's that worth?

No need to whipsaw when you could just impose new terms, without retribution.
 
I suppose my real comment is I still have little faith that Skywest's management will treat ASA's employees with any respect now, and in the near future. Just not a huge fan of being owned by another "regional" company.

So then, the progression was simple. . . they were old ASA routes, and before then, sure, they were Delta routes.
 
Gotcha. . . I just am seeing ASA slowly being pushed through the door. Just not something I like seeing, or even having to acknowledge. :(
