ASA info please

This HONESTLY is the first negative that I've heard about ASA. ASA being my second choice and Pinnacle being my first since I live in Memphis.

Just wait until you can sit right seat with a captain at one of these places. They won't feed you lines like some people do. I had a very informative 3-day-er that I don't think included a positive word about my new place.

Does anyone else at ASA know about all these maintenance problems this pissed off cowboy just posted?

Sorry about the ranting fella's......I'm off my soapbox now! My last trip was a LONG one.

All I am trying to say is to make sure you are well informed before you go anywhere. If possible try and talk to folks who work there to get an accurate picture of the landscape. Do not listen to the recruiting people or be lead astray by "good contracts". The recruiters are DESPERATE for pilots...all airlines are right now. They will paint a VERY rosy picture of things because that's their job. They're kind of like used car salesmen in that regard. And good contracts are only worth something if you have good companies administering them.

To make a bad analogy...it's like dating that super HOT girl/guy, but after a while they make you miserable. You complain about how she's a pain in the butt, but people who don't know her are like "but she's so hot" and don't believe what youre saying because they're blinded by the hottness!!! After a long enough period of time, you begin to realize she/he realyy isn't that hot anymore. Then they give her/him a try and finally realize that the hot girl/guy is crazy! Haha.

Anyway.....moral of the story, do your research and don't believe the hype.

I understand what you're saying...I thought the same thing unitl I got here and started to see it all. It's remarkable how little bad news you hear until you get there.

If anybody has any specific questions I'll be more than happy to answer them as honestly as I can.

Oh man, that's any airline man! :)

Seriously.

It really is whatever you make it.

What's with people getting offended by the truth? The truth is just that the truth.

Might not be what you wanted or needed to hear, but it's the truth.

Check my sig, I like ASA, always have. But that doesn't mean that everything is rosy because they have an "industry leading contract."

Nor did I turn into a pretzel after hearing his internal review of the company.

Lastly, cime is an FO an bout' to upgrade. People should listen to him and not get offended, as he has the real dope that newbies are trying to get both the job and info.

Well Max. . .the starried eye'd wonders do not like being told that this isn't a rosy profession to get into, hence their frustration with the truth.
