ASA hiring Instructors in California

I just got hired at the American School of Aviation in Atwater Califronia. They are looking for 8 or so more instructors right now to teach Intl. students. There is a 1000 dollar sign on bonus and you will be flying around 100 hours per month in Katanas, 152s, 172s, Symponys, and Pipers.
CFI is the only requirement right now.

I told my buddy about the job and the next day he was hired. if you send them a resume, let them know that David told you about the job.

The first three months is a 1000 dollar salary/month. After that it goes to an hourly basis of 12-20 I beleive
 
Tonight they did touch and goes while the U.S. Air Force was trying to conduct Heads-Up-Display research and the C-130 finally gave up and departed the pattern until they were ready to finish.

They sent a letter to the FSDO complaining of fuel contamination but the neighboring flight school had no problems in 2,500+ hours flown that month.

Former instructors have had wallets and logbooks stolen from their locked apartments.

An ASA plane burned on the runway a few weeks ago.

The hangar's pretty small for the fleet size.

The airport manager wants them out.

The FBO wants them out.

I want them out.

Don't go.
 
DO NOT go to ASA!!!!!

Way too many bad things about that place, don't let them sucker you in with $1000 sign on bonus. PM for details.

When I was circling overhead the day the plane burned on the runway, my student and I knew it was either
1) our Alarus or
2) one of their low wing Pipers.

After I'd learned everyone was safely out of it I hoped it kept burning, no matter which it was.
 
I dont even want to argue, that's pointless, we share the same airport, we should show each other respect.
The fact is I have 6 students who I try to fly with daily, plus about 5 others who are begging me to fly with them. ASA is planning on hiring 2-3 instructors per month and getting one new plane per month to provide for the 35 pre-selected students pre month that will be comming in next year. The planes are fine. Now with the fog that has come in I think I will be able to find some time to get started on my CFII.

Like the TSA, I do not hate the individuals who work there; it is the organization that I am not fond of.

I have, however, talked to ASA instructors on middle of the night fuel stops at MCE and VIS and they've agreed with the attitude I had in my first post. I also know two former ASA instructors who would make much more of an argument than I have.

Make that 4 instructors from my side.
 
I was set to begin training with ASA when they were at Reid-Hillview and Hayward (supposedly) and they did a bait and switch on me on my first day of training. My BS meter went off immediately. I went home and called another flight school to determine what supplies should have been in my Jepp kit and I realized that I had several items missing. They tried to tell me they were replacing my Jepp PP book with their own manual. They sold Jepp PP books at the counter to people who were not in their career pilot program. I do not believe ASA's management is ethical. I will be glad to fill you in with more details. I do not trust those people at all.
 
I had a commercial student who got his private from ASA. He left the school because he was not satisfied and I guess a lot others had left the school too.
