I would NEVER vote for a contract with PBS. Having the initial line improvement window is money. I'm 83% and get weekends off, commutable trips, and avg 80 hours credit.

I'm 70% in base, and I have 2 weekends off next month, but that's because of the way I bid. I have a stretch of days off that make me work those 2 weekends (weekend before my vacation, and weekends after my vacation). Am I using vacation time? Nope, just bid for it off with PBS and got it. A stretch of 9 days off, with a total of 18 days off and 80 hours credit with PBS.

I can typically hold 12-14 days off and credit 105-110 hours also. Yep, PBS is bad.

I won't vote for a contract without PBS.

I bid around 35% and the lines up here, right now, are still crap. During the fall I wouldn't have held less than 16 days off a month, and now you need to bid above 25% in order to get anything more than min days off. I suspect things will get better again at some point, but right now these lines are a joke.

Also, if you're bidding weekends off, you're not doing line improvement because you'll be working. The ILIW is nice, but after 10 months of heartburn when the window opens, it's not worth it. I'd rather get my line set in the first bid and be done with it.

This is true... "Rumor" on the pipe is that they're making the lines so terrible right now because they want you to WANT PBS. You've fallen into their trap! Sucker! :p

It's the company that makes the pairings anyway, right. So them sucking now isnt gonna get any better with PBS. Garbage in garbage out
