ASA/ExpressJet

Just curious. Does anyone know how it is to be determined which side of the company you will go to? When you go either job website they are the same. Is this something they will tell you before your interview, during, or after whether you will be on the CRJ or the EMB?

Also, on ALPC, XJet advertises 1000/50 while ASA advertises 700/100.

So are you applying for xjet or ASA when you apply?

After you pass the interview if there is a CRJ and an ERJ class you will get a choice. If there is only one class going on you will get what's available. But right now we don't need CRJ guys there has been a TON of hiring on the ERJ.

Hiring has slowed to almost a halt, not even sure if any new classes are starting. Rumor is hiring will resume in the fall and expect mins to be 1000+ considering you're gonna need 1500 by next August. Good luck!

True. I spoke to a recruiter the other day as I meet the 700TT req. but was told the new mins are at 1,000tt due to HR 5900.

EEEEeeeeeeerogah! Yeah just looking, I have a contract with the company I am currently with until next April/May. Yeah I know. Contract??? But I received a type out of it so i bit hook, line, and sinker. didn't realize that schedules and hard days off don't exist here when I took the job, needed money, getting jet time, and have gotten to visit some really cool places, buuut think I would like to have a schedule again. Sitting with 1300 now so atp mins shouldnt be an issue by then.

Don't come to ExpressJet.

Very little to be excited about at this place right now.

I disagree. I believe there is lots of opportunity on the horizon for Expressjet. Bombardier just quoted that the potential order from Skywest Inc is "enormous". I believe we will be getting CRJ700/900 flying for AMR, more 700s/900s for UNICAL, and more 900s for DAL. However I do believe the ATL base/Delta operation of Expressjet will shrink due to rapid retirement of the CRJ200 in exchange for 900s.

I believe Skywest has agreements in place and just waiting on each Legacy airline to get their pilot contracts talks finalized.

actually come to ExpressJet....Alot of movement with the EMB. People are holding lines a couple months out of training, and through attrition, upgrade is gunna come down.

I find it strange the attrition difference between the CRJ and the EMB. EMB has had over 20 Captains leave so far this year. The CRJ? 4! Lots of Lifers on the CRJ I guess.

What makes you think that Inc will give any new flying to ExpressJet and not "Mainline?"
