ASA/ExpressJet

Our contract allows it on the erj side. CA pay for FO responsibility. Some guys love doing it, others think its dangerous. Senior guy gets to decide who sits left seat.
What about flows and stuff? You have to know the captain stuff and the f/o stuff.

I used to love being a CA FO. All the pay, none of the bs.

As to the flows...if you don't know what your flying partner should be doing, how do you know if they're making a mistake? Two pilots - not just to have someone to converse with.....

Every airline I've worked at the captain wasn't wasn't required to know the f/o flow. When I flew the 120 at Skye they tried to make captains learn both but it never really stick, there is just way too much going on in that plane.

Damn straight, somebody's gotta do all the work :-P

In the ERJ everything is pretty much Auto... So it's pretty much a single pilot airplane (until smitty hit's the fan).

Any ERJ new hires have some free time tonight ill buy ya a beer at hoot county. Im on the long overnight here.

It can't be an actual pay raise unless it was negotiated with the union first. They might try a sign on bonus though.

True. Didn't RAH try that once?

They did. I heard from a friend that XJT hasn't said anything about pay raises.. Not sure where this rumor came from. All they've said recently is that XJT will not get new planes yet, and XJT isn't going to explore the electronic flight bag, read: they're too expensive and employees need to get a contract done before they'll do something about these things that cause terrible injury and pain.

There's another thread going on; RLA prohibits this.

Edit: Ooops, I mashed on the wrong quote button; you're spot on, for whatever reason I got the wrong post. Disregard.
