They were in clearing customs for Canada since our airport was one of the only couple where they could clear customs before they went to the Olympics

I'm only familiar with USA->bahamas customs, so up there when you go to canada you can clear the Canadian customs before leaving the US, on US ground?
If that is the case that is pretty cool if you can leave the US and pretty much land in any airport when on the Canada side, I wish we could do that for flights from Florida to the Bahamas, it's not a problem when flying back lots airports are intl. .

Yeah, he came through TOL on his way back home a couple weeks ago.
Sounds like a sweet gig and he was pretty nice too.

No it was special for the Olympics to clear on US soil first. The reason was that there was no more room up in Vancouver to clear all the aircraft coming in. So if you missed getting a slot up in Canada then you had to do it with us first.
