ARMY National Guard WOFT QUESTIONS

Well I thought I was on the fast track to WOFT but I apparently forgot how fast the military moves. I did everything that I could do to get accepted before reenlisting as I had been out for 11 years. I went to the board at the unit and the Colonel said, lets get this guy in as soon as possible. Well it took about 3 months more to get in having to wait 6 months post Lasik surgery. Now I am enlisted and just waiting for the last thing that I need to do which is the Fed Rec board. After that I should be next up as long as the next slots have E-4 slots and there isn't anyone in front of me.

Since it is the last thing that I have to do what should I expect from the Fed Rec Board? Also after the Federal Recognition Board do they try to get you to Ft. Rucker sooner? My issue is that I am almost 32 but I have been on this journey for 9 months so far. I have until I turn 33 supposedly so I'm starting to get worried.
Thanks for any advice.

You might want to remind the Colonel you are still waiting to go the next time you run into him at the pisser.

The FED REC board is pretty simple. It's just a panel interview with a couple O-6s who will just ask questions to determine if you should be an Officer. Basic questions are why you want to be an Officer, describe how the duties and responsibilities of Officers and Enlisted differ, tell me a time that you experienced <something>, etc. Just be professional and confident and it will be a price of cake. The SAO has already selected you so the fed rec is just window dressing.

As for getting to Rucker quickly, don't count on it. Money is short for the Guard and flight school slots are few. Our guys are waiting 6 months to a year to get a slot. It is state dependent though so you never know... You might get lucky and be able to fill a shortfall.
