Army National Guard Pilot Slots?

I think what Hacker is trying to say (with typical fighter pilot subtleness) is, if you want to fly for a career, why are you looking at the Army, who does ground combat, or the Navy, who does naval combat, instead of the Air Force, who does (surprise) aerial combat?

USAF wants a PPL (Well they would want you to have it). I want to fly in the military, but I know it is all about the needs of the service. I still want to have something somewhat guarrantied.

Also if I do not make it as a Pilot, there are more exciting jobs in the NAVY..... SEABEES, NUKE (Not really all that exciting, but it pays well), etc.

Does the Airforce have any cool Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering Careers in case I do not make it to a flying spot?
