Arizona guys...help

I'll be flying a brick (Seminole) around Arizona tomorrow. A guy came in from Germany and needs 12 hours in the PA44, so we flew around southern/central California today. Tomorrow we're heading towards AZ.

Can you guys recommend any airports that we should hit and ones we should avoid?

Thanks

Hit up Flagstaff, Sedona, Prescott, all are cool places from what I hear.

Sedona is probably one of coolest airports to fly into, especially if you come from the south. Beautiful scenery, huge red rock spires, and theres a pretty decent resaurant there once you land.

lruppert hit the good ones in northern AZ, but look down south as well. If you want some good eatin', go hit up Falcon Field (FFZ) in Phoenix and eat at Anzio's. Awesome Italian.

You can also hit the Grand Canyon airport, but be careful after dark there. I hear folks go down quite frequently due to Spacial-D.

As for avoiding airports, stay away from Cottonwood like the plague if you can help it. The unicom operator (who seems to think he's a controller) will literally yell at you on the frequency.

NO NO!! Go do touch and goes at Cottonwood (P52)...ask Kent for his ATC Controller's Certificate Number! It's good fun!

Come on up here to Flagstaff...you'll get some great crosswind experience. It's been unreal up here lately!! Can't beat the temperatures though...

Check out Laughlin-Bullhead City. You can land there, take the ferry boat across the river and eat at a buffet. Its also kind of neat when you have to taxi down a hill to get to the parking area.

Definately hit up SEZ on your way down, then stop at Falcon for some good eats. After that head south for about 10 miles to gateway if you like big runways and military jets, then go west to Stellar and be careful to not take out any cars on final. Complete your valley rally with a stop at Goodyear if you wanna see several parked airliners, including several UA 777's.

Have fun!
