Are there minimums for right seat on king air or small citat

Hello corporate people.
Are there minimums to sit right seat in a King Air or small citation in a part 135? I was thinking that I should wait until I had 1000+ hours until I look deeper into this but maybe I could start looking now??? I've got about 650 tt and 80 multi.

The minimums are:

1. How much are they willing to pay you?
2. What do the regs say Mr. CFI-Candidate?

Short answer. No.

Long answer. It depends on how the 135 operation is set up. (EOD requires 500 hours for the SIC)

In our case, the boss man wanted an ATP and 200 multi when I upgraded (for the FO). Lots of people gave him their "stuff" and he went with a guy with 800 TT and ~200 ME. Good guy, but nowhere near what he wanted.

Moral of the story. It's who you know, not how many hours you have, sort of.

Other than having the proper certs, there are no FAA mins. However there are generally mins and those are whatever that particular operator says they are. Which is to say the mins can often change depending on how hard it is to get a warm body in the seat at the moment.

I used to work for a 135 operator that would put guys in the right seat of the King Air who had 600tt and 0 multi (beyond the cert of course). But put your resume on the desk next to another that shows previous 135 experience and 1500tt and the other guy will likely get the call.

I decided to teach and wait it out to see if I got lucky... like most people- right place right time. I got in the right seat of a Citation Bravo w/ 2700/150 multi.. most dual given.

Thanks. Is it more likely to be hired in the right seat on a part time/as needed basis or as a full time employee? I would be happy to go part time/as needed if it got my foot in the door.

so true. . . many times they are seeing are you going to be cool and easy to get along with while on the road! Many operations, you are with your capt the entire time. They are also looking for someone that represents the company in a great manner!
Also, remember, in the world of flight instruction 1000 hours are a ton! Once in the "real world" 1000 really doesnt mean much. It just means you "may" be easier to teach!

Depends on how much they fly and what their needs dictate. If they get random trips twice a month that they can just wonder around and ask a random CFI if they want to go for a plane ride, you're going to go very "part time". If they do a shuttle every Monday and Thursday, plus a trip once a month to the summer home and then random exec trips through the week plus weekend trips to take the kids to see the grand parents, then you're probably looking at full time.
