ARC view or 360

Most of our 767's and 757's don't even have a 360 mode for the map. A few have "center map" but no one ever uses it. The HSI is also never used except to do a nav accuracy check.

On the E145 we had both. However, the full HSI didn't have a map and the full map didn't have a 360 mode.

Honestly, I can't remember if the 717 had a "center" (360) mode on the map. If it did we never used it.

Whatever the last guy left it on

Next question:

V-Bar or X-pointer?

Oh man, and I've actually gone back in, powered up and switched it back to 360 for you before. I won't bother with that anymore!

I prefer the arc with fms on the pointer (seems handy when using VNAV guidance).

Oh, and I'm a V-Bar fliver all the way. The cross pointer reminds me too much of the old Citation II right seat set up I used to fly.

Depends on the EFIS.

If its something like the efis in the citation 650 or V, then the only real benfits of arc mode are Wind Vectors. If its in the Primus, then you get WX etc.

But all said and done I like the 360 view.
