APFA vs ALPA How they Handle an Incident

I've been a member of FA Union. This is pretty cut and dry.

AFA is trying to be civil and not hose anyone.

ALPA is trying to throw other professionals under the bus.

SSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHADDDDDDDDDDy

edit: in hindsight it may not of been AFA, can't remember, but it was a FA Union.

Oh word?

That settles it. Pack it up boys. Problem solved. James Hughes handled it.

No, really. Pack it up. Forget ever coming here to discuss something amongst professionals, Hughes has got it under control.

See you guys when the Internet reaches version 7.0

jhugz Stop posting. I am on my phone but when I get done tonight I will post why you are making a fool out of yourself.

Can you be a little more "less vague" I'm curious what happened that involved both parties.

On the surface it sounds pretty messed up

I'd bet management is fairly used to reports from the two groups blaming each other

without knowing the details, i would say that is a stretch of the imagination. Im an ALPA volunteer, and i work with the AFA EAP reps that include professional standards. If i wanted to only look out for the pilots, i would never talk to AFA. Ive called them four times in the last 10 days for issues on both sides of the cockpit door. ALPA sure isnt the catch all, but to say that they only want to protect pilots, especially in is case would be pure speculation. I cant speak for all airlines, but i make it a point at my airline to protect the "crew" at mine. That starts with open and constant communication with my counterparts in the cabin and their reps. ymmv

The ALPA guys I talked to flat out told me the easiest way to protect the pilots is to throw the FAs under the bus....

How am I taking this out of context? First post in the thread from the horses mouth. That's some messed up stuff right there and people are still defending them.

Well nothing you ever write is serious. It's all just to stir the pot. If you told us that the Pope was from South America we would think you were trolling.

Within 10 minutes of making the post I was talking Seggy. So he knows the whole story, by all accounts the person I talked to took a position not in line with what ALPA should take. What I took away from this is not all union volunteers are the same.

Without knowing specifics but having very good knowledge of the airline discipline process and ALPA...If your job is on the line for someone else's mistake. PROTECT YOURSELF and do not feel bad for doing it..
