AOPA or Avemco Renter\'s Insurance?

Should I go with AOPA or Avemco? AOPA's is $5 more. Should I support a good cause (AOPA) or Avemco???

I went with Avemco. I think both are pretty much the same, but always double check the fine print. Either way you go you'll have the peace of mind that you have the insurance, but here's to hoping you never have to use it!

AOPA includes the $10 optional terrorism insurance in your online quote. If you sign up, you get a letter in the mail a few days later allowing you to decline it. The main reason I went with AOPA over Avemco, after talking with an AOPA rep, is that they do not reduce coverage for immediate family members, unlike the other carriers, so the insurance is actually better. Plus I like giving AOPA the business.

Avemco

was cheaper, and for me the CFI ad-on was cheaper as well.

theres a 5%discount for avemco if you do the King Risk Management CD. or at least our students have been getting that discount, but i'm pretty sure its universal. worth asking about at least.

Also I remember reading an advertisement in the AOPA flight training magazine a few months ago that Avemco now includes multi-engine planes on their insurance. I wish I would have known that before I got the AOPA insurance.

Okay, I took the plunge and got Avemco insurance... $205 out the door. Thanks for all your help peeps.
