Just my $.02. I would not get the dedicated unit but, from my 2 test drives, it is at the top of the list of apps that I can see replacing ForeFlight for me. And I've been a ForeFlight user for more than 6 years.

What do you enjoy about it that foreflight doesn't do? I've heard people say it's like Cessna versus piper.
I'm just so new to all of this stuff I'm clueless.
80kts to Osh? Yikes

Think we averaged 135-140kts. Original 0-320s on the wings.

it's really all about liking workflow. For me, it's mostly about familiarity.i chose FF when there were only two choices. I stick with it because it does everything I want, the way I want it, I have become super familiar with the flow, and I have a stratus, which removes other options. So you have some more context, I'm pretty familiar with most of the other options, both iOS and Android.What puts iFlyGPS ahead of the alternatives for me are three things. It does many of it's functions in a way that I find to be similar, it is the most customizable of any EFB. And it is multi-platform.
If you are new to this, my recommendation: use the free trials to try a few, and simply pick the one that feels best to you.
