Not a bad sign... Those us that were frequent posters have either moved on, (Turk), or are too busy to find the time to surf this board (me).
To answer your questions...
1. Yes there is a waiting list. The school has changed their instructor hiring process. Instructing is no longer a guarantee. It is an opportunity you must earn as a student. If you meet and or exceed certain criteria set forth by the Chief Flight Instructor, when you finish the program you are put in the instructor hiring pool. So rather than each new instructor only getting one student and having just a trickle of time filling up the log book, when you are finally "pulled" out of the pool, you could expect 3 students. The latest group that was just pulled out each got 2 private students. So that means at least three hours of flight time while they are in ground school, and about 6 when they are finished w/ ground school.
2. I am currently getting at least 4 to 5 hours of "dual given" each day with my 3 students. I have one instrument student, so we have been spending alot of time in the simulator, so that doesn't cound toward total time. I am not sure of everyone else, but if you have three students, and fly once each day with each person, 4-5 hours/day is good estimate.
3. Uniforms... Its a professional academy. Don't see that changing anytime soon.
4. Haven't seen or heard anything lately, but again, I don't really have the time to listen to the rumor mill.
