Anyone know of any SIC stuff in ATL?

Hey all, just as the title says, looking to get in good with a decent outfit in or around Atlanta. Or at least something that I can work to. I just bought a home near Peachtree City and love it here so I'd really like to settle and be based here.

Edit: Removed 135

Georgia Jet looks at guys with pretty low time out of LZU. If you got 135 PIC check out Imagine Air, also from LZU. PlaneSense also looks for people out of PDK.

I'm pretty short on Instrument but I'm looking to pick that up pretty shortly. I'm coming up to 1000tt and I', just over 600 PIC, would they even look at me at GAJet or Planesense?

I think PlaneSense is pretty desperate right now. It's a good shop to work at but guys are leaving for better gigs. You don't know unless you apply!

Yeah, looked like they had quite a few openings a few months ago and last I saw their posted mins were 1,000 TT.

Regarding Planesense: I used to be very interested in working for that company because they seemed like a good company and because I would really like to move back to Atlanta. I sent them a resume back in July in response to their multiple advertisements on various websites, and never got a response. Another guy applied three days before me, with basically the same qualifications and got an application back from them within a week. I gave up after two months of trying to reach them.

I was very disappointed in the lack of response.

Edit: took out extraneous semi-personal rambling sentences. Point is I was qualified per their ad requirements, and disappointed to be ignored.

Did you apply by fax, or did you e-mail your stuff in? I initially applied with them by fax, heard nothing, so I re-submitted my application via e-mail and heard back the next day. I filled in the application package, sent it in by e-mail, and finally heard back from them about 3.5 weeks later. I'm not exactly sure why they are so slow in responding to applications.

I live about 8 minutes from PDK, and I've heard they screen applications to see if you live within 100 miles of either base. Anyways, when they finally called me back they said they will have some people down in Atlanta in March to do interviews and invited me. But that was all the information I was given, no exact date or place. I guess they'll call me to finalize the details as it gets closer.....at least that's what I'm hoping.

Yeah, I applied by email. I'm thinking its because my instrument time is a little low and I'm not current. I really need to knock out an IPC soon

They're definitely looking for instrument currency. And they also like to see previous glass cockpit experience as well, although it's not a requirement.

Right on, I'm gonna try to go up for my IPC this week and as far as glass cockpit, well I was raised on a G1000 so hopefully that'll work out
