Anyone know any competitor planes against the DC-3 during its time???

There really wasn't and still isn't any comparable aircraft.

Honestly, thats what made the DC-3 so famous. It was the FIRST aircraft to really define the modern airliner. NOTHING was its equal during its day. And even in modern times, it stands out as a very unique aircraft. Every pilot I have ever met who had any DC-3 stick time says its a marvelous aircraft to fly. Almost flys itself.
