Anyone know a DER who can inspect on vintage airplanes?

You can't just reclassify a TCed airplane to Experimental, it can be done for testing a particular redesign, part or engine, but the AC has to be returned to its original TC with an STC for the redesign, part or engine after testing or used for continued testing. Also you can't take passengers other than required crew members as well as other very strict criteria deemed necessary by the FAA/DER/DAR.
Ok makes sense, Thats why I asked, I wasnt very sure on this, I only have a basic understanding of doing this type of thing.

Addison is the go to guy for all things aviation antique. I used to volunteered for him at his hanger when I lived up there. I had a very very small part in rebuilding the 1928 Boeing 40C on his website.

It was nothing more than a few parts and a rusted out bent airframe that was salvaged off an Oregon Mountain. The data plate was still intact and that's all that mattered. Addison did all the research, found the original plans at Boeing, and the rest is history. It is the only certified example in existence.

Thanks for all of the replies. He did find someone, through Addison, actually. Then, I got a call that he won't have time to get the plane ready. But now his dad (who's garage I live over) is out there working on it. I haven't really kept this thread updated because I've been too busy holding my breath.
