To the original poster... I think that's a good attitude to have. I try to share it because I figure anything less than a good dose of apathy towards this career and you're bound to lose a medical to stress.

As some one posted above, it's not all about the airlines in the aviation industry. There is still the route of general aviation, fractional and corporate flying. Especially fractionals where you actually fly about half as much as the airlines and make the same if not more money with better benefits.
